Me? Really? Awww...

Have you ever been in one of those days when you feel sooo good and like everything's going to turn out just fine?

I woke up this morning, fully expecting gloomy clouds and grey skies since the rainy season has begun in Indonesia.
Aaaaand... I woke up to... gorgeous rays of sunshine streaming through my window curtains!

It's gonna be a good day...

And turned out it has been! I don't know what tomorrow will bring, but I sure am grateful for today! It's such a productive day, I did so many things, and it's quite easy to smile and be merry. Yep, by know I know that being happy consistently needs serious hard work. (Please check my thoughts on happiness here)

And then, Sophie from His Abundant Grace notified me, that she wrote a post in her blog titled Mix N'Match, and she featured... moi! It's so sweet of her! She took pictures from my BBCA (Blogger for Breast Cancer Awareness) all pinks ensemble, together with some outfit pictures of Kate Middleton. So, I was like: "Me? Really?" (hence the title) So, thank you Sophie, for featuring that outfit!

Friends, please check out Sophie's blog here, and the aforementionted post here.

On the last note, I like this quote on Sophie's header:

"God in His infinite wisdom, did not make me very wise.
So when my actions are stupid, they hardly take God by surprise."

Love Letter: Miracle Still Happens, No Matter What People Say

Just when I thought nothing was going right for the past few weeks, God sent me a little love package to lift my spirit up a bit!

Life has been crazily busy in September since I got back from my Holyland vacation. Ow, I forgot to tell you though, of this little miracle. I have had problem with my right ankle for, I don't know, two or three months. Actually, I was pretty worried about it because I knew I would have to walk a lot in Holyland, and up till D-1 I still couldn't walk up and down the stairs properly. So, imagine my surprise when I realized that once I stepped out of the plance, my ankle healed. And so they have been, until now. Yup. Just like that. Suddenly. Another tourist I met in Holyland also told me his amazing story. He was supposed to have a knee surgery prior leaving, but postponed it for the Holyland tour. He was quite prepared to spend his tour on a wheelchair. And guess what? His knees got healed. Just like that. None of us expected it. I'm sure there are some logical explanations. Maybe the body adjusted. It knew it couldn't afford to get sick during vacation. But I also believe that it was, somehow, miraculous.

Anyway, back to what I was telling you about my hectic month. My boss was planning to take a long vacation off, and prior to his leaving, we worked like crazy to catch up with everything, and after he left, I got stressed out with all the 'homework' he left me and so many problems which suddenly occured in the office, that I had to tackle by myself. Now, I'm not the kind of person who get stressed out easily, being a sunny-happy girl most of the time. I didn't even realize that I was stressed out, until all the syptoms began to appear: pimples on my forehead, less quality of sleep, aching joints, appetite lost, and late monthly usually-regular-like-a-clockwork period. My hormonal balance just flies out of the window! And I didn't even know it! Duh!

Now, eventhough I'm new in blogosphere, I'm not new to writing. I've been writing a journal since I was a little girl. Writing is the perfect media to channel my feelings and thoughts, because I'm not good in verbal communication. So imagine my despair when I found out that my old but trusty friend, my laptop, decided to give up on me! It was dying, bless its Dell soul. On top of that, I got sick yesterday and couldn't get out of bed.

In the midst of all these minor-but-many glitches, there was an unexpected surprise. My post titled Just Jeans! got featured as Kileen's Color Brigade's favorite, at Cute & Little. Yayyy!!!
Cute & Little is one of my favorite blogs. I love Kileen's feminine and colorful style. Though I'm not petite like her, but her blog has provided me with lots and lots of creative fashion inspirations to try. And best of all, her style is real. It's not like too-Voque style, or everything-designer-style, or too-edgy style. It's something that I could definitely wear everyday and look nice without drawing TOO much amount of attention. Attractive, not attracting!

So yeah, I know it might sound silly ,and all but it brightens up my gloomy day, a lot. Thank you, Kileen! Thank you, God! And thank you to all of you, my dear Readers! ^__^

Love Letter: Passing Probation!

At most offices, three months is a probationary period. If you pass, you become a full-time employee. If not, then, well, nice to meet you, bye-bye.

Today, Style N Season passes the three-month probationary period. And passed. I still post. Hurray!

After three months, this little blog has:

  • 45 posts

  • 21 followers via GoogleConnect and 1 via Bloglovin

  • 3681 visitors

That's not much, but waaaay beyond my expection, so I'm very happy! And after three months, these are several thoughts about blogging that I'd like to share with you, dear Readers.

  • I love writing. I have been keeping diaries since I was a little girl, and even in this era of blogging, I still write in my old-fashioned pink Moleskin journal regularly.

  • Having lived in the US for several years for school and work, though English is not my first language, I speak, read, and write it well enough. However, I realized more and more that I should really get my posts edited for grammarital errors before hitting the publish button. I read through several posts and was totally hor-rified to see so many grammatical mistakes! Unfortunately, there were many times when I was too lazy to proofread the whole thing. Really apologize for that!

  • I have managed three blogs over several years: two in Indonesian, and this newest one in English. One thing I learned: if I want to stay motivated to continue blogging, I should first do it for myself, and second to please other people. That's the only way I could keep it genuine and go on writing.

  • Especially for Style N Season, I started to write to serve a higher calling. I'd like to share this topic with as much people as possible: modesty, especially at worship places. (Please read this post to learn more).

  • Some friends advised that I should blog more seriously (getting myself a proper camera, learn HTML, promote my blog more, etc.), but up until now, at least, I'll just keep it this way. I'm not a professional blogger. I'm not a celebrity. I'm not in the fashion industry. I don't blog to make a living or gain fans or sell clothes. It's only one of the many things that I love. So, I don't want to dedicate too much time on it nor I want the pressure to create a sophisticated-looking blog. (a.k.a I'm too laaaaazzzzy...)

As I mentioned, this is an ordinary blog by an ordinary girl living an ordinary life, who happens to have an extraordinary lust for that magnificently wonderful journey called LIFE, and an extraordinary love for anything about art, fashion, beauty, and feminity.

So, I keep it real, and hope that you enjoy reading it this way. ^_^

Thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much, my dear Readers, for visiting this humble lil' blog!

Love Letter: Finally, Follow With Bloglovin!

Aaaaah... finally! Finally I push myself to sign up to Bloglovin and put the button on my blog. Should have done it right from the start, but I was so lazy, I postponed and postponed and postponed.

As mentioned here, I'm basically technology challenged. I don't really care how things work on the internet, and I have no time (a.k.a too lazy) to learn how to blog properly. I've seen "Follow me with Bloglovin" buttons in so many other blogs, but I didn't know what it was and too lazy (again) to find out what it is. Until today.

Now I can follow all my favorite blogs in one page using my Bloglovin account. New posts from favorite bloggers will be shown on that page, marked as 'read' when I already opened it. No more checking gazzilion blogs one by one to see if Blog A or B or C has some new updates or not, because the page will only show a particular blog when it has unread new post. How convenient is that!

To cut the story short, now you, my dear Readers, can follow Style N Season in a much easier (and oh-so-stylish) way via Bloglovin!

So glad I did it... ^_^

Two-Week Notice

I've started posting entries for Style N Season since March 2011, but actually as of today, I've been online for two weeks!

As a novice blogger who is not IT/technology/internet savvy (and I do mean NOT savvy AT ALL), this has been an exciting experience. Even if I'm 90% clueless, I'm 100% happy!

I love to write and start this blog just for the fun of it. I'll be the first person to admit that I'm not a professional blogger in any way. I'm more like an organized-freak who likes to document everything including what I wear, what I love and how I decorate my home. I blog especially for friends and family, and I expect traffic will be very minimum. I'll be lucky if I can get like 1 visitor for every other day, or even once a week! So imagine my surprise when I checked the stats and found out that I've gotten like hundreds of visitors from 10 countries so far!

Most of the visitors came from:

  1. USA

  2. Indonesia

  3. Australia

  4. Canada

Wow, and I thought Indonesia will be on the top.

Publishing my blog online instead of just keeping it for myself and a few friends have given me that much-needed motivation to learn the ropes of blogging. I don't dedicate hours on it everyday. Blogging is just one of my many interests, and if spend so much time on it, I won't have time to live! But I have received many valuable inputs and kind advice from my readers, which I'm very thankful for.

These are what I've been learning for the past two weeks:

  1. How to add Follow with a click

  2. How to change the design blog template

  3. How to create a page and write the About section on it

  4. What a button means (not button on a blouse like what I thought!) and how to grab someone else's button to my blog (I haven't yet learned how to create my own)

  5. There are so many awesome bloggers out there! Creative, beautiful ladies who inspire me so!

So, thank you for visiting this blog and giving your inputs, lovely people!

And remember. Life is a celebration. Be thankful. Be happy. Enjoy.

God bless and regards,

LeeAnne, Style N Season, http://stylenseason.blogspot.com/
