When I was a little girl, I thought femininity and womanhood was... uncool. To me, it looked weak, vain, wishy-washy, and softie. Therefore, I used to prefer being a tomboy through and through, and looked down upon anything feminine, cute, ruffles, laces and pink! Now that I'm older and a bit wiser, I get a somewhat more real perspective on femininity.
The metaphore is like this. God created human like liquid metal. It can be shaped into a sword, or a pitcher. A sword is powerful and aggresive. It's sharp and dangerous, it can attack and protect. A pitcher, you might think, it's not as exciting as a sword. But let me ask you this, when you are thirsty and need to carry water for drinking, can you do that with a sword? I don't think so. But a pitcher can! Carve the pitcher a bit, and it serves as a pretty flower vase or multi-function container. And please do not for one second think that a pitcher cannot be used as a powerful weapon. You can basically hit someone on the head with it! Ha!
Masculinity and manhood is like the sword. Femininity and womanhood is like the pitcher. Both are important, powerful, useful and beautiful on its own. They are different yet complementing each other. Besides, if God intended to create man and man only, or woman and woman, don't you think He was fully capable of doing so? *wink*
"Only, everyone should live as the Lord has assigned, just as God called each one."
(1 Corinthians 7:17)
For me, that means living as and becoming more and more the woman that God wants me to be!
