What girl doesn’t love to shop? Or even just window
shopping? Or the 24/7 temptation called online shopping and window shopping?
And I don’t mean shopping is just about getting new clothes,
shoes, bags and accessories. It’s also that super cute Hello Kitty iPhone cover
with pink rhinestones, that mint scented candle that is perfect for spring,
that peach body lotion that smells so delicious, that new glittery nail polish
collection, that pink lip gloss that will make your lips look so gorgeous.
Those little things never fail to make us women feel a little bit better,
cherished, pampered, special. And we
don’t only shop for ourselves, but also for our loved ones, as well as for the
home. A new crock pot to make dinner for
the whole family, strawberry scented hand soap and towel for the guest bedroom,
chocolate cookies for the children, a new tie for dear Husband, a new slipper
for Mom…
Since Baby Michael arrived, I have very limited time for
myself, and window shopping at the mall has become a luxury I very rarely have
time to indulge for. So my shopping budget stays untouched, and my wallet
thanks me for it. But this girl ain’t happy because us girls love to see pretty
things, rite. Part of the shopping experience is not just the buying but also
looking at the beautiful things and displays. So how do I satisfy my window
shopping appetite?
You Tube haul videos, but only by out-of-the-country
YouTubers
By watching haul videos, I can look at all those cute things
that other people buy and new trends. It’s sort of window shopping for me
without ever leaving the home, which I could do at night after Baby Michael is
asleep and Hubby is watching DVD before we both tuck in to bed. Lucky me, most
of those YouTubers are from the US, and they buy things that are mostly only
available in the US, so even if I’m tempted to get that caramel mocca hand
sanitizer that smells so yummy and will look adorable hanging from my purse, I
cannot get one since there’s no Bath & Body Works in Indonesia! Pretty safe,
huh. Ow, and JewelMint doesn’t send to Indonesia either, so no matter how much
I want that beautiful Shanghai pendant and necklace, I cannot go to their site
and buy it!
Online Stores N Company Websites
Lucky me, I don’t really like to shop on line, except for
accessories. When I buy clothes or shoes, I want to touch or even try them if
possible, to make sure that it really fits me and comfortable to wear. Accessory is my Achilles Heels, because it’s
easier to visualize and if the seller states the material it’s made of, it’s
enough for me to make decision whether or not I want to buy it. I found some
very cheap but very pretty Hello Kitty crystal pendants on Ebay, for about USD
2,5 each. I love to browse on Ebay just to see things.
My current favorite company site is Henry Bendel. They have
such cute women accessories like compact mirror and keychain, as well as
beautiful bags. We don’t have any Henry Bendel stores in Indonesia, so it’s
pretty safe to browse around since I cannot buy anything anyway. Haha!
My Own Closet
Do you know what’s so good about after giving birth and you
almost get your pre-pregnancy body back? You feel like you have a closetful of
new wardrobe! Things that you couldn’t wear when you were huge now can fit you
again. It’s just like Christmas and birthdays all thrown into one! “New” skinny
jeans, “new” high-waisted skirt, “new” fitted tops… ^_^
I don’t know how long it’s going to last, the no-mall
period, but it’s been going on for more than a year since I was pregnant. And hey, I’m still alive and I haven’t missed
the mall just yet. Well, a little maybe, but it’s not bad. ^_^
