Vintage Dusty Pink Roses

For me, fashion is supposed to be fun, frugal, feminine and of course, modest. In terms of frugal AND fun, it means being fashionable is about being creative. It's about mixing, matching, making do, and wearing what you've already got. You can refashion, like when I refashioned my skirts into maternity skirts and turned my old jeans into skirt. You can repurpose, like what I did here with this vintage-looking rose printed halter dress. Yep, it's actually a dress, but I wore it as a top.

Think of ways how you can wear the pieces in your closet in different ways. Trust me, you can create a full new wardrobe from the things you've already got in your own closet. I haven't purchased any new office clothes for, well, two years, maybe, and I still have fun shopping around in my own closet. I incorporate casual clothes for work, and vice versa. That way I can have more usage and mileage from each piece of clothing.

Back to the rose halter dress. Last year, I wore it alone for Hubby's birthday lunch. You can read the post here. I forgot what I got him as a present, but I do remember that it was a wonderful birthday lunch with our son. ^__^

Oh, speaking of birthdays and presents, what girl doesn't love presents? This girl certainly does! I love chocolate, and Hubby knows it. Again, he also knows that very rarely I would indulge myself in buying rather expensive brand of chocolate, I almost always opt for cheaper brand, so he got me this! This is not high end brand of chocolate like Godiva, but it's more expensive than the brand I usually buy. I feel so spoiled. I loooooove this kind of "just because" gifts! Isn't he sweet or what!

And this is a closer look of what the rose dress looks like, worn as a top with this black wrap skirt for work. Not bad, huh.

Ah, I did this with a dress as well. I just folded it under at the right length.

I am considering cutting it off tbh as it works well as a top but is a bit tight for my taste as dress

I also write about modest frugal clothing. I am currently writing about modest maternity clothing. I would love to hear your thoughts!
